On assumption of office in 2019, Governor AbdulRahman Abdulrazaq visited Oyun Waterworks to ascertain the level of degradation and promised to revive the waterworks to provide clean water for domestic and industrial use for the populace.

Consequently, reconstruction work is ongoing at the Waterworks, while a transformer for installation to provide consistent power supply to the Waterworks has also been delivered.

Oyun Waterworks is one of the three Waterworks currently undergoing comprehensive rehabilitation, courtesy of the Kwara State Government.
