Reading Kwara Eagle’s security alert on the alleged plot to unleash attack on some notable persons in the state, especially members of the opposition, The Kwara Actualization Group is urging the Kwara State Government to as a matter of urgency call on the proponents of these claims to shed more light on these issues.
Anyone who digs the social media history of the so-called Kwara Eagle will discover that it is one of the many pseudonyms of followers of Senator Bukola Saraki who cowardly hide behind one finger to attack the state government and the Governor. It is an old trick.
The security alert being canvassed by Kwara Eagle had presented Saraki’s supporters and the government’s opposition as hapless victims in a pre-emptive violence under the cover of the recent volatile security condition of the country.
However, history has confirmed the unconventional tactics of violence used by the failed Saraki political dynasty to claim political relevance in Kwara State.
We have not forgotten so soon the 2003 political war of the arrest of some foreign nationals said to be wearing vests with Up Lawal inscription alleged to be in the employ of the Sarakis in Ilorin. The men were trying to mingle with the Lawal’s supporters in order to effect the assassination of the governor.
The attempt by the Kwara Eagle to link kwara state Government with the pre-emptive attack should be probed because this may be the usual antic of the Saraki’s supporters to give a false prophetic claims of their evil machinations.
Since we are no longer in the Dark Ages, we are appealing to Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq to direct the relevant security agencies to invite those behind Kwara Eagle to shed more light about what they know about the security alert.
Our experience in kwara State has taught us that specialists in the use of violence for political purposes should be far from governance as possible. It is too soon for us to allow those who do not want this country to move forward to be allowed near any Government House in Nigeria.
The political temperature is on the upward swing as politicians re-enact scenes that led the country downhill some 54 years ago. Politicians who consider little, if anything, of national interest should not ignite combustible materials through myopic conducts.
