Kwara Committed to Human Capital Development: Kwara Deptuty Gov

Kwara State Deputy Governor, Mr Kayode Alabi says the state government is committed to the human capital development of it’s people.
Speaking at the maiden meeting of the State’s Human Capital Development Council, HCD, Mr Alabi said the government would continue to invest in her people to boost their productive capacities.

The Deputy Governor, who is also the Chairman of the HCD Council, explained that the state government had adopted the federal government vision and parameters for human capital development which include health, education, agriculture and labour.

He added that AbdulRazaq administration is fully committed to the human capital development of Kwarans, women and youth employment.

In her presentation, the state Focal Person and Senior Special Assistant to the Governor of Kwara State on the Sustainable Development Goals, SDGs, Dr Jemilat Bio-Ibrahim noted that the meeting was held to deliberate on the state’s Human Capital Development Document which she said was generated out of the National Human Capital Development core working group as approved by the National Economic Council.

Dr Bio-Ibrahim explained that the Council would be working in close contact with key government Ministries, Departments and Agencies, MDAs, International Donors and other relevant stakeholders to human capital development in the state to develop the document further to ensure that by 2030, over three hundred and fifty thousand Kwarans, including women and children would have been developed.

She added that the five thematic areas of the State’s Human Capital Development – Health, Education Agriculture, Enterprise and Technology are tailored towards the vision of Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq for the state.

The meeting was attended by the State’s Commissioners for Youths and Sports, Women and Social Development, Agriculture and Natural Resources, Health. At the same time, those of Communication and Finance and Planning joined via Zoom.

Others in attendance were permanent secretaries of key MDAs and relevant stakeholders to human capital development.
