Following the decision of the turnaround management of Harmony Holdings Limited to scale up its ongoing reforms in the company and its subsidiaries one of which is Harmony Transport Services Limited (HTSL) AKA Kwara Express.
A Business Review and Investigation Committee (BRIC) was constituted and inaugurated on the 11th of September, 2020 to among other responsibilities carry out a holistic review of the business model of the company and investigate its previous managements in the last 7 years including the 6 months period in which the staff union ran the affairs of the company.

In addition to the above, the committee is also mandated to conduct a full staff and process audit to eliminate ghost worker syndrome, enhance productivity and block all leakages militating against the growth of the company. In the second week of the committee’s assignment in which it was scheduled to carry out the staff Audit, the management took the decision to suspend operations for one week to achieve those objectives while simultaneously overhauling a significant number of the company vehicles with a view to provide better services to our teeming customers and ease the stress on our drivers.
Thereafter, a section of the company staff decided to embark on an industrial action and demonstration starting from Wednesday 23rd of September 2020 as a protest against the ongoing reforms in the company particularly the staff audit and investigations.
The members acting purportedly as a union mobilized their external allies who stormed the premises of the company to disrupt the ongoing process, prevent staff from participating in the biometric attendance data capturing exercise, destroyed some equipment, harassed the committee members and caused bodily harm to other members of staff who refused to participate in the untoward protest.
It is on record that this has been the usual practice of this section of staff who are averse to change and any form of reforms in that company acting under the guise of a non-existent union.
However, in furtherance of the resolute commitment of the company management to the ongoing reforms and overhauling process in fulfillment of the mandate of His Excellency, the Executive Governor of Kwara State to ensure that all state owned companies under Harmony Holdings are significantly repositioned to serve Kwarans better, we are constrained to announce with effect from today Wednesday 30th of September, a further period of complete shutdown of our operations to afford us the opportunity to conclude the ongoing exercise and further carry out a thorough review of our operational dynamics to reposition Kwara Express to serve you better.
Consequently, all staff are hereby advised to stay away from the company premises within this period unless they are invited. Also, the company premises which is currently being used for illegal loading purposes by the same group of staff in a period in which they allege to be on strike will be shut down and manned by security agents forthwith.
Finally, we wish to use this medium to invite the general public to submit any meaningful suggestions, recommendations or petitions that can assist the committee with its assignment from today till Tuesday 6th of October 2020. A clerk of the committee will be stationed within the premises of Stella Obasanjo Multi-purpose Hall, along garage Offa to receive your input from 10am-4pm daily.
We apologize to the general public and our esteemed customers for any inconveniences that this may have caused and will cause as we reassure you that this decision is taken in the best interest of all of us.
Thanks
